CREATURE FEATURE #3: Bridgid of Pho & Chips
Happy Monday and welcome to CREATURE FEATURE! Today's feature is on the lovely Bridgid of Pho & Chips, a blogger crush of mine. Bridgid grew up in New Zealand but, like the name of her blog, is a hapa (like me!) with Vietnamese and British roots. She has been blogging since April of 2011 but has only been blogging from London since April of this year. Check out her interview after the jump!
I definitely identify with and am influenced by Western culture - and at the moment I'm inspired by a lot of great street style here in London. I love the relaxed-yet-put together look that many Londoners rock, it's very casual-chic! It was in China however, that I first starting becoming a bit more experimental with my style, trying new things and taking risks - the Chinese are very expressive when it comes to fashion, and wear whatever makes them happy without worrying too much about trends. I love that!
2 - Truthfully, do you prefer high heels or flats?
High heels! Heels make a look immediately more feminine, and those few extra inches of height somehow give you a sense of confidence, like you can take on the world and win! But of course, I don't wear heels all the time - my feet & legs need a break every now and then, and flats are definitely more comfortable!
3 - How did your parents meet?
Although they were born elsewhere, both ended up in New Zealand when they were young and eventually met while working with refugees in New Zealand.
4 - Do you have any weird nicknames?
Guys tend to be the ones who come up with weird nicknames for me, like B-dawg. I don't mind though, it's a Kiwi habit (of which I'm also guilty) to shorten everyone's name to as few syllables as possible and I think nicknames are fun. :)
5 - What is your first memory?
Holding my little brother who was born when I was two - he was the most adorable little baby ever!
6 - What is your next big purchase?
I'm saving for my next designer handbag! There are so many bags I'm dreaming of, but it's a matter of saving my pounds first before finally choosing. As they are such a big expense, when I finally make my choice I will look for something really classic that I'll be happy to wear for years to come. At this point I'm thinking either something from Mulberry or Alexander Wang. In my dream of dreams, it would be between Chanel, Celine, Prada, and Proenza... :)
7 - Favorite TV show of the moment?
Am a bit behind in watching this, but I'm really into Boardwalk Empire at the moment! Addictive. And so well filmed/directed!
8 - What do you wear to bed?
Giant tshirts & shorts, or tank tops & flannel pj pants!
And that's Bridgid, all! You can follow her on Bloglovin, twitter, fashiolista, lookbook, and Facebook.
